아이가 생겼어요

It was a hot summer night of 2016 that we knew—finding the clear two lines on pregnancy tester. We had been talking for a while about having a baby but didn’t expect it to happen so soon! Both in late thirties, we had felt somewhat overly conscious of those statistics around pregnancy by age, which made this news even more fantastic to us.

2016년 어느 여름 밤, 두근대며 구입한 임신테스트기에 선명한 두 줄이 찍혔습니다. 이제 곧 아이를 갖기로 하자 얘기하던 우리였지만, 이렇게 순식간에 찾아온 아이 소식에 얼떨떨했지요. 30대 후반에 들어서는 동갑내기 부부라 난임이니 노산이니 하는 얘기들이 점점 신경쓰이던 무렵이었는데, 너무나 편안하게 찾아온 아기 소식에 참 감사하고 기뻤습니다!

What an exciting—albeit scary—moment that will define our new chapter in life as a family! We saw a doctor in a few weeks to be sure, who told us the little baby is growing well. As early as in 10 weeks we knew we were expecting a girl, thanks to Harmony prenatal test. Now we just need to get ready—if we could ever.

가족으로서의 삶에 새 장을 여는, 신나고도 떨리는 순간이었습니다. 두근대는 몇 주를 보내고 병원을 찾았고, 아이가 건강하게 잘 크고 있다는 답을 들었습니다. 초기 산전검사를 통해 딸 소식을 금방 확인했구요, 이제 준비만 잘 해나가면 될 텐데 말입니다.
